A Northwest Airlines passenger from Nigeria, who said he was acting on al-Qaida's instructions, tried to blow up the plane Friday as it was landing in Detroit, law enforcement and national security officials said.As the captain was giving his 'Thank you for flying with us today' message the man recalled what he'd forgotten to do over the Atlantic. "Heh," he chuckled to himself. "Am I going to get teased in Paradise for this. Welp, better late than never!"
